Lansing, MI-Transformation GEMS is holding an official Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at their new office space. The event will take place on Thursday, July 20th, 2023, from 12:00 PM-2:00 PM at 3333 S. Pennsylvania Ave, STE 100, Lansing, Michigan 48910. The messaging starts at 12:00 PM with the ceremony beginning at 12:15 PM. The event will be facilitated by Daniel Rahl of the Lansing Regional Chamber of Commerce, along with Pastor Samuel Duncan IV and Tony Willis Chief Equity Development Officer at LEAP.
THIS EVENT IS FREE TO ALL! Community members, businesses, and local organizations are encouraged to attend. Some of those who confirmed their attendance at the upcoming event include Andy Schor-Mayor City of Lansing, Emily Dievendorf-State Representative 77th District, Myles Johnson-Ingham County Commissioner District 5 Rachel Willis-Lansing School Board President, and Hertel for Michigan-Candidate Michigan’s 7th Congressional District. This informative, interactive event is designed for guests to tour the new space while exploring and supporting the “One of a Kind” Vendor Boutique, featuring diverse Entrepreneurs within the community.
Dr Carmen Thomas (Founder/Director of Transformation GEMS) says “ We are enlarging our territory to Empower Women of Color to start and sustain businesses to create systems, legacies and become Recession Proof by Creating Businesses within our Community. “The new office space for Transformation GEMS will be a 3,200 sq ft shared space with office suites, cubicles, bathrooms, conference room, and workshop space. The organization has given over $30,000 to women of color in the Greater Lansing Community in the last 3 years. This was accomplished with community partners such as CASE Credit Union, Astera Credit Union, LEAP, Ingham County Sunrise Grant, Express Professionals, Lansing COGIC, and other community sponsors. Recently the organization has partnered with Mid-Michigan Credit Union Association and CASE Credit Union to provide women of color with Grants in the Greater Lansing Area. The partnership has provided several women with funding to grow and expand their businesses.
