THIS DAY IN HISTORY....

Can you believe it, folks? -- it was 40 years ago today, the 30th of November in 1982, that the biggest-selling album of all time was released -- Michael Jackson's "Thriller!"

The album was a pop culture phenomenon the likes of which we may never see again. With certified worldwide sales of 32 million units.

It spent 37 weeks at No. 1, and spun off a then-unprecedented seven top 10 singles, including "Billie Jean," "Beat It," "Thriller," "The Girl Is Mine," "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin,'" "PYT (Pretty Young Thing)," and "Human Nature."

At the 1984 Grammy Awards, Michael and "Thriller" won a record eight trophies.
