The Chronicle Media Group in Partnership with Purpix Media and Lansing Community College Launches “One Day Film Skool” Free Program for Students Seeking a Career in Media

Students will have an unforgettable experience with our immersive One Day Film Skool program. They will learn from industry professionals and work with professional-grade equipment to get an insider's view of TV and film production.

 

🌟 Get ready to dive into the thrilling world of video production, podcasting, streaming, and filmmaking with our tailor-made introductory program for high school and college students! With hands-on activities and expert guidance, participants will gain foundational skills in storytelling, production techniques, and career insights into roles like director, producer, editor, sound engineer, and on-air talent.


When: Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM

Where: Downtown Lansing Community College campus

Cost: Free! (Limited to the first 30 registrants)

Registration Deadline: Friday, November 29, 2024, at 5:00 PM



What You’ll Learn and Experience

  • Create a 3-minute video during the session.

  • Get hands-on with professional-grade video equipment.

  • Learn how to produce a short film or video using a multi-camera setup.

  • Explore career opportunities in media and filmmaking.


Additional Details

  • Lunch: Provided free of charge!

  • Eligibility: Open to students currently enrolled in high school or higher education.

  • Age Requirement: Participants must be 18 years or older or registered by a parent/guardian.

  • Media Release: A signed image waiver is required to allow promotional use of photos and videos.


Program Guidelines

  • Code of Conduct: All participants must adhere to Lansing Community College’s policies, including a strict no-profanity rule.

  • Transportation: Participants are responsible for their own travel arrangements.
