Although many of us were expecting Rihanna to unveil a new hit single during the Super Bowl, she did us one better: she revealed her new pregnancy!
Starting the performance, she gave an inconspicuous but intentional belly rub that had fans raising their eyebrows. If you were attending a Super Bowl party, how long into the performance did it take for one of the guests to politely turn and ask 'Is Rihanna Pregnant?'
Many took to twitter to talk about the performance. The actual entertainment was stellar so that alone was enough to converse about but many had 'Love on the Brain' wondering if Rihanna and ASAP Rocky would welcome a second child; their first was born in May 2022.
“When you become a mom, there is something that just happens where you feel like you can take on the world,” said the musical icon and entrepreneur.
“The Super Bowl is one of the big stages in the world, so as scary as that was – because I haven’t been on stage in seven years – there’s something exhilarating about the challenge of it all,” said Rihanna, who last toured in 2016. “It’s important for me to do this this year. It’s important for representation. It’s important for my son to see that.”
Her pregnancy did not appear to affect her performance or stamina one bit. She danced, jumped and was suspended on a platform tens of feet into the air. She opened the show with “B**ch Better Have My Money,” before moving on to other entries on her long list of chart toppers, including, “We Found Love,” “Rude Boy,” “Work,” “Only Girl (In the World)” and “Umbrella.”
