Police in Charlottesville, Virginia are searching right now for a college student suspected in a mass shooting on the University of Virginia (UVA) campus last night that killed 3 people and wounded two others.

University police say the suspect, identified as Christopher Darnell Jones, should be considered “armed and dangerous” and they are advising students and staff, more than 8 hours after the shooting, to remain inside.

Officials say shots rang out in the area of Culbreth Road on the UVA campus around 10:30 Sunday night.

The identities of the victims have not been revealed so we don't know if fellow students, staff, or others were shot by the gunman.

Classes have been CANCELLED for today at the University of Virginia.
