NEW YORK PHILHARMONIC STRING QUARTET

Four principal musicians from one of the country's greatest orchestras, the New

York Philharmonic, will take Wharton Center's Cobb Great Hall stage for one night only on Thursday, April 6, 2023, at 7:30PM. Tickets are on sale now through the official Wharton Center Ticket Office, online at whartoncenter.com, or by calling 517.432.2000 or 1.800.WHARTON.


New York Philharmonic Concertmaster Frank Huang, Principal Associate Concertmaster Sheryl Staples, Principal Viola Cynthia Phelps, and Principal Cello Carter Brey are travelling to East Lansing to perform Mozart's Quartet No. 19 in C Major, Schubert's String Quartet No. 14 in d Minor, "Death and the Maiden," and more.


Formed in 2017 during the New York Philharmonic's 175th anniversary season, all four members have amassed countless prizes and awards and performed as soloists and ensemble members worldwide.


Together they form a dream team hailed by The New York Times as "marvelous" and performing with "romantic élan and grace . with utmost taste and technical precision" (Palm Beach Daily News).
