For the first time in six years, singer/songwriter Rihanna has new music out there. Her latest solo release 'dropped' at midnight Thursday. The song, "Lift Me Up," is from the soundtrack to the new movie, "Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever."
It was written as a tribute to actor Chadwick Boseman, the late star of 2018's “Black Panther." Boseman died of cancer two years ago.
"Lift Me Up" marks a return to the recording studio for Rihanna. Something anxiously awaited by her devoted fans known as "Rihanna's Navy." She was last in the studio for a solo project in 2016 for her "Anti" album.
The 34-year-old native of Bahama is now considered the world's richest female musician -- worth an estimated $1.7 Billion.
"Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever," will be in theatres nationwide on November 11th.
