Leading Turkish Manufacturer Plans to Launch US Operations

BATH TWP., Mich. (October 10, 2023) – An important economic development opportunity will be explored during Tuesday evening’s Bath Township Planning Commission meeting. Norm Fasteners, a subsidiary of Norm Holding, a well-established global player in the field of sustainable and high-quality fastener manufacturing, is considering launching its first manufacturing operations in the United States.

Founded in 1973, Norm Group has evolved into an industry leader, manufacturing a diverse range of connectors, including bolts and fasteners. Over the years, the company has expanded into machinery production, logistics, and marketing services. Norm Fasteners is a leading manufacturer of high-quality fasteners, serving a wide range of industries, including automotive, construction, agriculture, and more. Their commitment to innovation, reliability, and customer satisfaction has earned them a trusted reputation worldwide within the fastening industry.

Norm Fasteners initiated its journey toward North American business growth in 2018 when it established a sales office and distribution center in Lansing, Michigan. This marked the beginning of a long-term vision to establish fastener manufacturing operations in the United States to support Norm’s many US-based customers in automotive and other key industries. The Lansing Economic Area Partnership (LEAP) and Dymaxion, the development partner for this project, have worked closely since 2017 to support Norm Fasteners in achieving their goal of transitioning their sales office and distribution center into a large-scale manufacturing facility in the United States. Today, we proudly stand as the culmination of that vision, as we assist Norm Fasteners in exploring the prospect of growing their US operations with manufacturing in the Lansing Region.

“Foreign direct investment (FDI) attraction tops the pyramid in economic development, with all resulting economic activity being brand new to the local community, region, state, and even country,” said Keith Lambert, chief operating officer of LEAP. “Supporting companies like Norm Fasteners with their initial FDI soft landing and helping them grow their business to the point of large investment creating hundreds of new jobs – that is the gold standard and a top priority of LEAP and our partners to utilize the resources and tools available to propel these rare opportunities into reality.”

"Our relationship with Norm spans nearly twenty years and we are excited to help them achieve their objective of manufacturing products here in the United States and creating jobs for our community," said Jeff Deehan, principal of Dymaxion Development.

Companies like Norm Fasteners have many choices when it comes to site selection and location decisions for their investment and jobs. Michigan is competing every day to win these kinds of prospective projects over competing states and countries. Should the Bath Township Planning Commission make requisite approvals over the coming weeks, additional economic development tool consideration and approvals by local and state entities would be required before the project could move forward.
