LCC Foundation seeks Distinguished Alumni nominations

Nomination process is now open





LANSING, Mich., Jan. 23, 2025 – The LCC Foundation has opened the nomination process for the 2025 Distinguished Alumni. Nominations will be accepted on the Foundation website through Sunday, March 2.


Since 1991, LCC has honored an outstanding alumnus who has excelled in their career and service to their community. Nominations are accepted from family members, coworkers, former classmates, or anyone with knowledge of a nominee’s achievements. Self-nominations are also accepted.


The Distinguished Alumni are selected by the LCC Foundation Alumni Committee and representatives of Lansing Community College.


Richard Peffley was the 2024 Distinguished Alumni. He graduated from Lansing Community College in 1982 with an associate degree in science. Peffley is currently the general manager of the Lansing Board of Water and Light Board.

The 2025 Distinguished Alumni will be recognized at LCC’s commencement ceremony on Friday, May 16, at the Jack Breslin Center on the campus of Michigan State University.
