Ingham County Health Department, Michigan State University to host vaccine clinic August 31, ahead of fall semester

LANSING, Mich. – Ahead of the start of the fall semester, Ingham County Health Department and Michigan State University are hosting a COVID-19 vaccine and booster clinic on August 31 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Breslin Center for students and the greater Lansing region. This will be the eleventh time the two organizations have joined together to protect the health of the community through COVID-19 vaccinations.

“Ingham County Health Department is thrilled to work with Michigan State University again and provide COVID-19 vaccines to students and the surrounding community,” said Linda Vail, Ingham County Health Officer. “Staying up to date on your COVID-19 vaccines helps protect our community. I encourage everyone, including our students returning to school, to stay up-to-date on their vaccines.”

“I am proud of our continued partnership with the Ingham County Health Department” said Dr. Norman Beauchamp Jr., executive vice president for health sciences. “Through the most challenging times, we have partnered to provide the resources our students, staff, faculty and community seek to maintain health and safety.”

In addition to providing vaccinations and boosters to new and returning students, the August clinic also will offer first, second, and booster doses of the COVID-19 vaccine for other members of the community ages 6 months and older.

For those attending the vaccination clinic, free parking will be available in Lot 63 of the Breslin Center, off of Harrison Road. Individuals should enter the Breslin Center through the Hall of History entrance located at the southeast corner of the building. Individuals should bring their COVID-19 vaccination record card and insurance card with them to their appointment, if possible.

Appointments are strongly encouraged; however walk-ins will be accommodated when possible. The community can register for a vaccination appointment at https://hd.ingham.org/coronavirus/r_1014.aspx.
