The National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. (NHBW) Northwest Indiana Chapter is excited to announce its annual fundraiser to support scholarship and program initiatives. This year’s event will be held Saturday, June 3, 2023, at the Chateau Banquet Hall, 530 West 61st Avenue, Merrillville, IN 46410 at 3:00 PM.
The organization has set a goal to raise $20,000, and the 2023 “Making Educational Dreams A Reality” scholarship recipients will be acknowledged.
"Community support enables us to award scholarships to graduating high school seniors and aid with our program initiatives such as literacy through providing free reading corners, teen mentoring, domestic violence awareness, promoting health wellness, and the arts, " said NHBW member Sonda Vasquez.
In previous years, more than 20 graduating seniors in Northwest Indiana and continuing education students have been awarded scholarships.
