College Basketball is Back: Spartans and Wolverines win their Openers

The new men's college basketball season began Monday night with both Michigan State and the University of Michigan in action at home.

The Spartans defeated the Lumberjacks of Northern Arizona by the score of 73-55. Senior forward Joey Hauser led the way for Michigan State with 18 points and 10 rebounds.

In Ann Arbor, the Michigan Wolverines also began the new season with an impressive victory -- 75 to 56 over Purdue/Fort Wayne. Center Hunter Dickinson paced U of M in scoring and rebounding with 22 & 12 respectively.
