When he was becoming an NBA Hall of Fame basketball player, Charles Barkley had the nickname, "Sir Charles."
But these days, Barkley is becoming known as "Sir Gives-a-lot!" He has made giving to HBCUs, (Historically Black Colleges and Universities), a habit and he’s adding two more black colleges to the list — Jackson State and Bethune-Cookman.
The current TNT-TV basketball analyst is donating $1 million dollars to each of the HBCUs, according to media reports.
These two gifts are just the latest in a series of philanthropic endeavors by Barkley involving HBCUs. He has previously given to Alabama A&M University, Clark Atlanta University, Morehouse College, Miles College, Tuskegee University, and Spelman College.
