In partnership with Ingham County, CATA will provide transit service to this year’s Ingham County Fair which runs Monday, July 31, through Saturday, Aug. 5, 2023.
Patrons will board the service at the CATA Transportation Center in downtown Lansing and travel to the fairgrounds in Mason via I-496 and US-127. The express service will begin at 3:30 p.m. Monday and 12:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and continue every hour with the last bus departing the CTC at 9:30 p.m. Buses will depart the fairgrounds to transport riders back to the CTC every hour on Monday between 4 p.m. to 10 p.m., and Tuesday through Saturday between 1 p.m. and 10 p.m. The complete schedule is available online at cata.org/InghamCountyFair.
“Partnering with CATA will make the Fair more accessible to folks who use public transit,” said Fairgrounds Events Director Lindsey McKeever. “We are excited to welcome to the Fair more people who might not have had the opportunity to attend previously because of transportation barriers. We thank CATA for supporting this new and special bus route.”
The Ingham County Fair offers attractions for all ages including livestock and horse shows, 4 H exhibits, food and rides. The grandstand offers a unique array of entertainment throughout the week. A full entertainment schedule is available on the Fair’s website at fair.ingham.org.
CATA will accept all fixed-route bus passes and cash as payment for the $1.25 regular/60 cent discounted one-way fare. Children under 42 inches tall accompanied by an adult ride for free.
