WNBA star Brittney Griner is back home! She landed on American soil a few hours ago after 10 months as a prisoner in Russia.
Griner landed at Kelly Airfield in San Antonio at about 4:30 am local time. She was taken to Brooke Army Medical Center, where she'll undergo evaluation and reunite with her wife, Cherelle.
The 32-year-old Houston native was imprisoned in a Russian penal colony after authorities found cannabis oil in her luggage at the Moscow airport. She was sentenced to nine years. The Biden Administration got her released in exchange for Russian arms dealer Viktor Bout who was serving a 25-year prison term in the US for illegal arms sales.
