Some people were born with music in their veins. Lansing, Michigan-born Gregory DeMyers is one of those people. Growing up in a home that was saturated with Gospel music, Gregory D, as he is affectionately known, was destined to fulfill his purpose in sacred music. Known as a gifted instrumentalist, songwriter, and choir director for most of his life, Gregory, leader of Gregory D and Company, is stepping into his season with a brand-new single, “My Time”. Through the artist’s company, Gregory D Productions, LLC, and distributor IndieBlue, the song is the pre-cursor to the full release coming in late 2020. The six-time Rhythm of Gospel Award Nominee and the two-time Voices of Gospel Music Award Nominee soared up the Billboard charts, peaking at #36 on the Billboard Top Gospel Chart and making the Most Added and New and Active Charts, all while changing lives in the process. It is the sincerity of the call and an undeniable anointing that makes Gregory D and Company one to watch in Gospel music.

Looking at Gregory’s beginnings, it is no surprise that he would flourish in music ministry. He was raised in the church, growing up in a religious home. Steeped in the traditions of the Church of God in Christ, both parents were also musically inclined; his mother was the church’s worship leader and pianist while his father was the organist and choir director. The apple rarely falls far from the tree and soon their son followed suit learning the keyboard, drums, organ, and bass. At the age of five, his mother recorded young Gregory singing, “I’m A Soldier in The Army of the Lord”. It was hearing himself sing that made the youngster realize he might have a talent. He continued to hone his skills as an instrumentalist and a vocalist and by the age of 17, he began writing songs. In his role as a church choir director, he started penning songs for his choir. It is the sincerity of the call and an undeniable anointing that makes Gregory D and Company one to watch in Gospel music. BIOGRAPHY He continued singing and playing at his home church and area churches but did not truly pursue his full calling until the passing of his mother. “When my mother died on Mother’s Day in 2012, I believe my ministry was birthed at that moment,” recalls Gregory. “At the time of her death, I was a part of a Gospel rap group named ‘L.I.V. Music Group’ where I was a lyricist, hook/ chorus writer, singer and leader. The anointing was on us and each time we ministered God was there.” He noticed that every time they ministered; rap would transition into pure worship. Although he was excited at what the Lord was doing in the group, he kept feeling a tugging on his heart to start his own ministry. It was then that Gregory D and Company was birthed.

Gregory D and Company recorded their first song in 2012 and two years later, the tune was released. “He’s Good”, the group’s debut recording, was their official entrance into the Gospel music industry. “More Than a Conqueror” was the second single, which dropped in 2016. That song was followed up by the track, “I Am a Praiser” in 2017. The ensemble released their first EP entitled “The Worship Trio” in 2017. Their first full album was delivered in 2018 called It is My Time. Resonating with those who have been waiting on their new season, the title tune is an exciting and celebratory track, released as a single in 2020.

Also, in 2020, Gregory D launched his music ministry full-time. Doors have been opening since the start of the group in 2012. Gregory D and Company has been blessed to minister behind Gospel Artist Bryan Poppin. They have also shared the stage with Gospel notables Vanessa Bell Armstrong, Lee Williams, Wess Morgan, Alexis Spight, Clifton Ross, III and Willie Moore, Jr. The ensemble has been seen on WATC-TV’s Atlanta Live, Babbie’s House and Magnify as well as on WGGS-TV’s Nite and on TCT-TV’s The Dorinda Show and Prayer on Purpose. Honored to meet and be featured on Christian television, Gregory D and Company can see the stage being set for more opportunities to minister in song. With a slew of award nominations under their belt, the group is humbled to be recognized. Since they started the group, they have sung and inspired countless believers. For Gregory D and Company, the goal is simple: continue to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ through song.
