Weilerstein has garnered fans around the world. Hailed as "Yo-Yo Ma's heiress apparent and sovereign of the American cello" by New York Magazine, Weilerstein is one of the foremost cellists of our time. Known for her consummate artistry, emotional investment, and rare interpretive depth, today her career is truly global in scope, taking her to the most prestigious international venues for solo recitals, chamber concerts, and concerto collaborations with all the preeminent conductors and orchestras worldwide. Her published recordings include chart-topping albums as well as the recent winner of BBC Music’s Recording of the Year Award.

This performance is a special chance to hear three of Bach’s beloved Cello Suites—Nos. 1, 3, and 5. Holding a very special place in the musical canon, these unaccompanied suites are a musical touchstone, particularly the beloved Suite No. 1. Weilerstein recently recorded all six suites, which became a best-selling album. Of the recording, The Guardian proclaims an “exceptional cellist’s music emerges with sunlit clarity into its own vast space.”
