Ms. Theresa Lark is a dedicated advocate for the environment. She grew up in Grand Ledge, Michigan and, looking back on her youth, she recalls the two-acre garden she and her family tended. “We froze and canned fruits and vegetables; we were able to eat from our garden year-round.” This experience helped her to value the land and inspired a life-long appreciation for environmental stewardship.

Theresa is currently the Executive Director for the Mid-Michigan Environmental Action Council (MidMEAC), a 501(c)(3) charitable organization serving Ingham, Eaton and Clinton Counties. She uses her more than twenty-five years of experience in managing organizational development, executive development and strategic communications to further MidMEAC’s goals of water quality protection, sustainable land use and clean air.

Ms. Lark has served on nonprofits at all levels, including fundraising, executive operations and leadership. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Community Development and Public Administration from Central Michigan University and is a graduate of the Michigan Lake and Stream Leadership Institute.

Theresa has a strong commitment to MidMEAC’s mission of environmental stewardship. “Everyone can do something, participate in recycling, volunteer for a river clean-up, car-pool or use public transportation. We’re looking for volunteers right now to help with Recycle Rama on April 14th.” Anyone interested in lending a hand at Ingham County’s largest one-day recycling event can sign up at http://bit.ly/RecycleRama2018.

MidMEAC was founded on Earth Day in 1993 with a mission to improve environmental stewardship in Mid-Michigan and throughout the state. “MidMEAC members and supporters devote thousands of volunteer hours to monitor water quality in our local watersheds, provide environmental education, and advocate for conservation projects and policies. Our members and volunteers do this to protect our home - there is no ‘Planet B’.”
